Our PPC Campaign Process
Google Ads Setup
First we set up a highly focussed Google Ads campaign that minimises wasted spend and utilises the correct channels that are relevant for you (which may include Search, Display, and/or Shopping, depending on products or services and your industry). We utilise a broad range of tools to optimise our campaign setup, including: retargeting website visitors, selecting appropriate audiences, geo-targeting, targeting appropriate age groups, setting intelligent budget limits and bidding strategies, optimising website landing pages for high conversion rates and high quality scores, and limiting the display of ads to specific times of day and days of the week most appropriate to your target audience and industry.
Bing Ads Setup
Then at a very low additional cost, we then set up a weekly sync to a Microsoft Ads campaign (MS Ads is the new name for Bing Ads). As the Bing pay-per-click platform reflects the Google PPC platform so closely, around 80 or 90% of setting from Google Ads optimisations are carried over automatically into the Bing Ads once this is set up, meaning you get 2 campaigns for the price of 1, fully automated. Bing search usage is growing rapidly, especially in the UK, and as a result, we’re typically seeing much better cost-per-acquisition (or cost per conversion) rates within Bing Ads – this won’t last for ever we’re sure, but right now it’s an opportunity to be utilised.
Integrate with SEO
We also help you to make sure that PPC is not your only means of getting online visibility – after all, you have to pay for every click with PPC, whereas SEO offers free clicks, and also much higher visibility – some studies indicate as much as 90% of potential business is to be obtained from good organic search rankings, not from paid advertising, so a balanced overall SEM strategy will give you the best ROI in the long term. In some industries though, especially those offering emergency repair services or other fast-response items, the importance of paid ads cannot be overlooked. In other industries, where the buyers journey and consideration period is much longer, it may be very hard to get any ROI at all out of PPC, and after careful analysing and split-testing, our PPC advisors won’t hesitate to advise honestly if we feel that paid ads is not the right marketing channel for you.

Understanding PPC and Its Role in Digital Marketing
What is PPC?
PPC stands for Pay-Per-Click, a digital advertising model where advertisers pay a fee each time one of their adverts is clicked. Essentially, it’s a method of buying visits to your site, supplementing the visits earned through organic reach. PPC adverts can include a mix of text, images, and videos and appear across search engines, websites, and social media platforms.
PPC in the SEM and SEO Landscape
PPC is a crucial component of SEM (Search Engine Marketing), which encompasses both paid and organic strategies to improve site visibility in search engine results. While SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) focuses on enhancing organic search rankings, PPC offers a direct route to gaining traffic through paid adverts. Although different, PPC and SEO strategies often complement each other in a comprehensive digital marketing plan.
Platform Focus: Google Ads and Microsoft Ads
Our services centre on Google Ads and Microsoft Ads, two leading platforms in the PPC domain. Google Ads, with its vast reach on the Google search engine and affiliated sites, offers unparalleled visibility. Microsoft Ads, formerly Bing Ads, provides access to a unique audience through the Bing and Yahoo networks. The use of Bing search in the UK is growing rapidly, with some studies indicating up to 25% of UK searches are now on Bing, so it can no longer be sidelined as insignificant. Both platforms are essential for a comprehensive PPC strategy, allowing businesses to maximise their online presence.
When to Use PPC - And When Not To
Effective Google and Bing Ads Management
Managing PPC campaigns on Google and Microsoft Ads involves strategic keyword selection, advert creation, budget management, and performance analysis. Successful management leads to higher advert positioning, lower costs, and improved return on investment (ROI). Our expert PPC team ensures your campaigns are optimised for success, from keyword research to advert optimisation and ongoing management.
Why Choose PPC for Your Marketing Strategy?
PPC is ideal for businesses seeking immediate visibility, targeted advertising, and measurable results. It’s particularly effective for launching new products, promoting special offers, and reaching specific demographics quickly. PPC is adaptable, allowing for precise control over your advertising budget and strategy.
When PPC Might Not Be Right for You
While PPC offers numerous benefits, it may not suit every marketing strategy. As a general rule, industries where people make quick buying decisions do well with PPC – for example, emergency drain unblocking firms – while industries that typically have a long buyer consideration period – e.g. architects – may find that SEO offers a far better ROI for them.
Also, when considering ROI, bear in mind that PPC costs are ongoing – the moment you stop paying for the ads, the ads disappear. Whereas with SEO, your rankings will remain in place long after the initial optimisation required to obtain them, so the long-term ROI on SEO tends to be higher than PPC, if you can afford to wait.
Businesses with limited budgets may find the cost of simultaneous PPC and SEO campaigns challenging, and if so, we can help assess which is best suited to your industry and target client profile. But if you can afford both, then combining PPC with SEO and content marketing often yields the best results, offering both immediate and sustainable growth.
If your main aim is brand awareness rather than driving bottom-of-sales-funnel conversions, then a blend of low-cost PPC such as display advertising, combined with SEO to drive free clicks to helpful content aimed at the very top of the sales funnel, can expose your brand to potential future clients at the very beginning of their buying journey.
