Here are the key characteristics that we look for in each of our team members:

Quality Work

First we encourage our team to think: “if this was your website or digital marketing campaign, would you be happy with the quality of content, presentation, and intelligent commercial strategy?”

But because each of our team (and our clients for that matter) are different, we then ask: “Would this client be happy as well?”

Naturally, this process requires intimate knowledge of your businesses, including what you do (and don’t) offer, who your target audience is, and your preferred ‘on-brand’ communication style.

Speed of Delivery

Many marketing agencies charge per hour, but with our focus on results, instead we price our marketing campaigns based on what you want to achieve.

After all, if we spent an hour producing 1000 words of written content, that’s worth 10x more than an hour spent writing 100 words of the same quality, so a fixed hourly rate doesn’t make good business sense.

And as poor quality content will tarnish your brand and damage your SEO, what we look for from our team is a combination of quality and speed.

Mutual Respect

Everyone on our team is a unique human being, and likewise, all of our clients are run by people of different backgrounds, races, and cultures.

We strive to seek out clients who share our desire for a high-trust working relationship, having proved time and time again how much faster marketing campaigns deliver results when a culture of mutual respect is present.

At UClimb, we believe in taking the middle road between extreme perfectionism on the one hand, and ‘more haste less speed’ on the other:

Perfectionist, rarely get anything completed.
We get stuff done fast, but don’t forget to double check quality, and prepare before setting out.
Slapdash, rushed, no prior planning, and no double checking.
Always learning new techniques, but never deciding which to use, or waiting until at least 5 other people have tested them first.
We learn new things every day, but don’t use them until validated, and don’t spend all our time learning, we also make time for the less exciting job of doing what’s on the task list.
Doing what you’ve always done, and not keeping up with rapidly evolving digital marketing best practice.
Asking everyone questions to make sure you have all the info you need, and then double checking everyone is happy with your interpretation of their answers.
We see if we can find the information ourselves, before troubling the client or a colleague. If there is reason to be unsure, we state exactly what we’re unsure about, and ask for confirmation, making it a simple yes or no for the other person.
Assuming you always know the answer, or making it up if you don’t, and not notifying anyone about your assumptions.
Highly democratic, with a desire to achieve 100% consensus before action. Important mission-critical decisions can be held up by just one difference of option, preventing progress.
Collaborative and action-focused, proposing solutions that others can quickly agree to or comment on, rather than open ended questions about what others think unless that’s appropriate. If others disagree with our plans, we invite them to propose their own solutions, so that we can continue the progress towards a mutually agreeable solution that can be actioned.
Totally autonomous decisions made on the best course of action, without reference to other key parties involved in the project.
Reactive when there’s a problem – act on first impulse.
Curious when there’s a problem – examine my own thoughts and feelings, what are they based on? What are the facts of the situation, and what is the context? What’s the best way to resolve this quickly? What can we learn from this for future?
Freeze when there’s a problem – avoid it and hope it goes away.
